Delete your Barbloon account
- You can delete your Barbloon account, and the data tied to it, at any time: in the app, or by writing to us. You do not need the app on your phone to ask.
- When you delete it yourself it happens at once. It cannot be undone.
- Bills, and the shop's own record of the visit, stay with your name and number removed. Section 4 lists everything that stays, for how long and why.
This page is for Barbloon, the app for customers (Android package com.barbloon.barbloon_customer, the iPhone app and the web app at app.barbloon.com), and for Barbloon Partner, the app for salons (com.barbloon.barbloon_partner). Both are made and published by Dorvo Labs LLP.
1. In the Barbloon app
- Open Barbloon and tap Me.
- Under Settings, tap Your data.
- Scroll to Delete everything and tap the button.
- Type the two digits your mobile number ends with, then tap Continue.
- Tap Delete now.
Your account is deleted at that moment. A booking that is still live is cancelled and the shop is told. If you are already in the chair, that visit runs to its end and is recorded without your name.
2. Ask us to do it, without the app
Write to hello@barbloon.com from any email address and give the mobile number your account is on. You can also call Barbloon care on 7 907 707 507 or 7 907 607 507. You do not need the app or a sign-in for this.
- We call that mobile number back, to be sure the request comes from the person who holds it.
- We delete the account. The same things go and the same things stay as when you do it yourself.
- We write back to say it is done.
We do this within 30 days of your message, usually much sooner.
3. What is deleted
- Your account: your name, your mobile number and your profile (age band, gender tag, hair type, upkeep preference, language, and the 18 or older confirmation).
- Your saved looks and every picture the Mirror made for you.
- Your consents.
- Any note a shop wrote about you.
- Every sign-in, on every phone and browser, and the notification tokens of your phones.
- The sign-in record that Google Firebase Authentication holds for your mobile number. We ask Google to delete it at the same moment; if Google does not answer, we try again every hour, for up to 30 days. One exception: if the same number is on a salon's team in Barbloon Partner, the record stays, because that app signs in with it. It goes when the number comes off the team and you ask us.
- Your name, your number and your account on every booking, visit and bill. The records themselves stay with the shop (section 4), and the history under Me is gone.
Your number is not blocked. You can come back later and start fresh, with no history.
4. What is kept, for how long and why
Bills
The bill of each visit a shop billed: its number, the lines, tax, total and how it was paid, with your name and number removed. The bill's own link still opens it, without a name.
How long: as long as tax and accounting law requires. Why: a bill is the shop's tax record.
The shop's record of the booking and the visit
The date, the services, the stylist, the steps of the booking, the cut you asked for, any reason you typed when you cancelled, and the booking's own link, which opens a closed page with no name on it. No name, no number and no account stay on it.
How long: no end date is set. Why: it is the shop's history of its own work, and the day's line has to stay whole.
Care notes
If Barbloon care worked on one of your bookings, its note on that case and its record of the calls it made stay with the booking, as written at the time. The log of which care agent opened which booking also stays; its entries no longer lead to you.
How long: no end date is set. Why: so that we can answer for how a complaint or a no-show was handled.
A record that a deletion happened
The date, and how many records went. Nothing in it says who you are.
How long: no end date is set. Why: to show that a request was carried out.
The server log
The network (IP) address of each request, the address asked for and the time. No location and no search words.
How long: 30 days. Why: security and fault-finding.
Backups
Encrypted copies of the database, and of the Mirror pictures on the server that night, made before you deleted. They are opened only to bring the service back after a failure.
How long: up to thirteen months, then deleted. Why: recovery from a failure.
On the shop's own phone
If a shop sent you a bill on WhatsApp, or called you about a booking, your number may still be in WhatsApp or in the call log of that shop's phone. That is outside Barbloon and we cannot delete it. Ask the shop.
Usage events (section 2 of the Privacy Policy) were never tied to your account and are deleted after 90 days.
5. Delete some things and keep the account
- A saved look: Me, All looks, then delete the look.
- A consent: Me, Your consents, then Revoke. Taking back the Mirror consent also deletes every saved look and every Mirror picture.
- Calls from shops: Me, Calls from shops, then turn the switch off.
- Location: turn it off for Barbloon in your phone's settings. We do not store where you were.
- This phone only: Sign out removes the sign-in and the notification token from the phone.
- A copy of what we hold, or a correction: write to hello@barbloon.com.
6. Barbloon Partner, for salon staff
Barbloon Partner has no sign-up of its own, so there is no account to delete inside the app. You sign in with the mobile number that the shop's owner gave us for the shop's team.
- To leave one phone: Settings, then Sign out. That ends the sign-in on our server when the phone is online, and removes the phone's notification token. A sign-in left behind (the phone was offline, or you switched shops) lapses after 180 days.
- To come off a shop's team: ask the owner, who can ask us to remove your number, or write to hello@barbloon.com from any email address with your mobile number and the shop's name. We call the number back to be sure it is you, then take it off the team. From that moment Barbloon Partner stops working for it on every device. Its sign-ins and notification tokens are removed from our server within 30 days, and so is the sign-in record Google holds for it, unless you also have a Barbloon customer account on the number, which keeps using that record.
- What stays: your name, as the shop recorded it, on the bookings and bills you handled. Those are the shop's records and are kept as section 4 says. If you have a stylist profile on Barbloon and want it removed too, say so in your message.
If you also use Barbloon as a customer on the same number, that account is separate: deleting it does not take you off a shop's team, and coming off a team does not delete it. While the number is on a team, deleting the customer account leaves the sign-in record at Google in place, because Barbloon Partner signs in with it.
A salon that wants to leave Barbloon writes to hello@barbloon.com or calls Barbloon care. We tell the owner what will be removed and what has to be kept before anything is deleted.
7. Questions
hello@barbloon.com, or Barbloon care on 7 907 707 507 or 7 907 607 507. The Privacy Policy, section 6, says how long we keep each kind of data. Dorvo Labs LLP, Kochi, Kerala, India.
