Terms of Service
- Barbloon is a booking layer between you and independent salons and stylists. We help you get a turn; the salon does the work and sets the prices, which you see before you book.
- Turn times are honest estimates with a window, confirmed by a person at the shop. They are not guarantees.
- Nothing is charged to customers during the founding period. When payments are switched on, the advance and refund rules below apply and we will say so in the app.
- Be fair to shops and they will be fair to you: show up or cancel early, rate honestly, and give consent for photos only if you mean it.
1. The service
Barbloon (barbloon.com, the Barbloon customer apps and the Barbloon partner app) lets customers see a salon's live queue, book a turn or an appointment, keep a record of their cuts, and try looks in the Mirror; and lets salons, stylists and other partners run their queue, appointments, customers and billing. By using Barbloon you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you use Barbloon for a salon or as a stylist, you also agree to the partner terms you accept when you enrol.
Salons, stylists, beauticians and other partners on Barbloon are independent businesses. They decide their services, prices, hours and who they serve. Barbloon does not provide the service you book.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or older to create an account. A parent or guardian may book for a child.
- Your mobile number is your identity. Keep the details you give accurate, and tell us if your number changes.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share sign-in codes.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app; section 6 of the Privacy Policy explains what is removed.
3. Bookings and turn times
- Two kinds of booking. A turn (token) puts you in the shop's live queue for the next hour or so, with the first free stylist. An appointment reserves a specific time and, if you choose, a specific stylist.
- A person confirms. Every booking is confirmed by someone at the shop, or, if the shop does not respond in time, by Barbloon's care team on the shop's behalf. A booking is not confirmed until you see it confirmed.
- Turn times are estimates. We show a likely time with a window, computed from the live queue. The shop may push your turn later if it is running behind, and you will be told. A turn time is never a guarantee.
- Arriving. For a turn, the shop holds your place for a grace period (normally 15 minutes) after your estimated time. For an appointment, the stylist holds the slot for 10 minutes; if you arrive 10 to 30 minutes late you become the next in line rather than keeping the slot; after 30 minutes the appointment is cancelled.
- Cancelling. Cancel from your booking page as early as you can. Repeated no-shows may limit your ability to book.
- The shop may decline. A shop can decline a booking it cannot take, for example when it is closing early. We will offer nearby alternatives where we can.
- Adding services. You and the stylist can add or change services during a visit; the price of anything added is shown before it is done.
4. Payments and refunds
During the founding period nothing is charged to customers, and founding salons get their first three months of Barbloon free. When payments are switched on we will say so clearly in the app, and the following applies.
- Prices are set by the salon and shown before you book. You pay the salon for the service, in the shop or through the app, by the methods the salon accepts.
- Advances. An app booking may require a small advance, which is adjusted against your bill. Bookings made by scanning a shop's QR at the shop do not need an advance.
- Refund of an advance when you cancel an appointment: in full if you cancel three hours or more before the time; half if you cancel between one and a half and three hours before; none after that. If you do not show up within 30 minutes of the appointment time, the advance goes to the salon. For freelancers and beauticians who travel to you, a full refund needs 24 hours' notice, and documented expenses already incurred may be deducted.
- Payment failures. If an advance is not paid within the payment window, the booking is released to others.
- Payments are processed by a licensed payment gateway. Refunds go back to the method you paid with and can take several working days to appear.
5. Salons and stylists
- Partners agree to keep an honest queue, to confirm bookings promptly, to ask before taking photos, and to respect the privacy rules in the Privacy Policy. A shop whose queue goes stale may be hidden from the crowd check or paused until it is live again.
- A stylist's profile, work history, ratings and badges belong to the stylist and move with them between shops. A salon keeps its own records of work done at the salon. Neither sees the other's private data.
- Subscriptions, commissions and paid features for partners are described in the partner terms and pricing shown at enrolment. After the free founding months, continued use of paid features needs an active subscription.
- Barbloon may suspend or remove a partner that repeatedly misleads customers, abuses the platform, or breaks the law.
6. Content and consent
- You own what you contribute: photos, looks, ratings and notes. You give Barbloon and the relevant shop or stylist a licence to store and show that content within the service as the Privacy Policy describes, and you can withdraw consent for photos at any time.
- Ratings must be honest and about a real visit. A low rating needs a reason. We may remove ratings that are abusive, off-topic or not from a genuine visit.
- Do not upload content that is unlawful, that infringes someone's rights, or that is not yours to share.
7. Disputes with a salon or stylist
Because prices are visible before you book and the service is provided by the partner, Barbloon is not a party to disputes between a customer and a partner about the service, its price or its quality. Our care team will help you and the shop talk to each other and will adjudicate no-shows and booking mix-ups fairly; where an advance is held by Barbloon we will apply the refund rules above. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.
8. Acceptable use
- Book only what you intend to use. We limit active bookings per mobile number and booking requests per device to keep queues honest.
- Do not scrape, copy or resell the crowd check or any part of the service, and do not try to interfere with it or with other users.
- Do not use Barbloon to harass anyone, including shop staff and stylists.
- We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, after telling you unless the law prevents it.
9. Availability and liability
- We work to keep Barbloon available during salon hours but cannot promise it will always be, and we may change or withdraw features as the product grows.
- Barbloon is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a partner's acts or omissions, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid to Barbloon in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Ernakulam, Kerala have jurisdiction, without limiting your right to approach a consumer forum. We will announce material changes in the app and update the version and date at the top; continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions: hello@barbloon.com.
